Check out this video of wonderful, hard-working ladies sorting coffees, shot on my last visit to Harrar.
As many of you know, we have been committed to improving links in the value chain in Ethiopia for years. After the intervention of the ECX and later DST, some of our clients and colleagues have voiced what amounts to abandoning faith in the ability to source high-quality Ethiopians any longer. So, I felt the need to share the results of a table we cupped yesterday.
One table, mostly Ethiopians, nothing scored lower than an 82. Mostly washed coffees from Yirgichaffee and Sidamo with a notable natural Yirg as well. We purchased a few of these lots for clients that we buy for already, and a few lots remain from cooperatives we have dealt with in the past. The coffees are on the water and headed west; let us know if you would like to contact the importer.
