Video: Coffee Cupping Class – The Pour

An often overlooked essential to proper coffee cupping, is in preparation of the cups. Here you see students pouring the water over the ground coffee. Seems simple, but every step (selection, dosing, grinding, water temp, pouring, etc.) up to this point must be well mapped in order for proper extraction to occur.

Video: Coffee Training – Long Beach, CA

Triangulation is done under red lights in order to minimize visual bias during the exam. 6 sets of 3 coffees are presented. Students must choose which coffee is not like the other two in each set by using the senses of smell and taste only.
